Kyle was teaching Ben how to throw a ball up from on your back. He loves doing this with Daddy. He laughs which makes us laugh which makes for a lot of fun together.

USU's last game. We finally made it to an USU game. The crowd is so fun to listen to and watching Wild Bill just makes it even more fun. This game we got to see the whole Winnie the Poo club.

Ben loves to find new places to hid. I was practicing my guitar when Ben was snooping around and ended up in the case.

My big Surprise Birthday Bash. Kyle surprised me with the best birthday ever! He started with picking me up and making me think that we were going to SLC to walk around and shop. Instead he took me to get pedicures together. He picked out the color all by himself, and that was just the start. He took me shopping, and let me buy whatever I wanted.

Then it was to Hamilton's for a dinner, but the Birthday Bash is not over yet. The other day we were driving past the Ellen Eccels Theater in Logan and I noticed that the Music Man was playing. I told Kyle that I loved that show. I thought nothing of it because I didn't think he was listening. He didn't say anything about it. So after Hamilton's we drove in a very interesting way to the Tabernacle and parked. He told me that he missed the turn so we would just have to walk. I was so surprised when he turned onto main street and I saw that Music Man was still playing and that we were walking right to it.

It was the best birthday ever! Kyle was so thoughtful. It meant so much to me that he would go through all that planning all by himself and keep it a surprise from me. He loves telling me surprises before they happen. It was fun being pampered all day and being with my best friend.

Happenings of January
Granny and Pa took all the little boys out to a movie. It was fun seeing all the boys trading seats throughout the movie and sharing popcorn and licorice. It sure is fun taking all the boys out all at once. Even when there is 5 adults and only 5 little boys it sure causes a lot of chaos. They always have so much fun together.

We went to visit Shane and Ellen in Rexburg to go snow-shoeing. We love being out doors and doing whatever there is to do.

I walk out of the room for one minute and this is what I come back to. I put the popcorn on the table where I thought Ben couldn't reach it. Apparently, Ben can climb onto the chair and onto the table and back down in less then a minute. Hank was in the other room, so I know that he could not have helped him.

Popcorn all over, Ben sticking his head into the bowl, trying to lick the butter on the bottom. He was smiling so big loving every minute of his mess.

Jen (Ben's favorite Christiansen Aunt named Jen) puts fun designs on shirts turning them from boring and plain to jazzy and fun. This is one of them. This is just a tribute to Jen. She does great work.
Kyle got to go count rabbits with Cory, who is the Fish and Game Cop here in Preston. He loves doing ride-a-longs and doing anything outside.

Ben got a trike for Christmas. What a great present. There is a bell on it that he loves to try and ring. He has a ball on that trike.
One day soon he will be able to reach those peddles.
Ben's first real haircut. It was long and I really did not want to cut it, but it looks so cute short. Why is it that every time you cut little boys hair, they look like they grow up so much?

He did really good. He sat there like a big boy and hardly wiggled. What a great boy!
Except for this one. Maybe he didn't like his haircut so much towards the end...

Grouse Hunting

This was my first time going grouse hunting and it was pretty fun. Even tho we did not even see one grouse, we did get to see a squirrel and a couple of deer. It was pretty excited. My favorite part was the hiking with Shane and Ellen, Steve-o and Tuff the dog, and my two favorite boys Ben and Kyle.

Hiking in the Lemhi Mountains

This weekend we went and visited Shane and Ellen with Steve-O and Nancy. On Saturday we went for a drive to the Lemhi Mountains, it was so fun to all be together and to be up in the mountains hiking around.

It was a bit cold, the first snow that we had seen this year. I am a bad mom and forgot Ben's gloves and big coat in the suitcase at Shane and Ellen's house. He only cried a little bit when we were on top of the mountain and it was really windy and cold. We kept him bundled in blankets and in Kyle's coat. I think he was mostly crying because he wanted to get down and to walk.

This little boy LOVES to climb on things, he is going to be a good mountain climber when he gets a little older.

On our way home we saw a baby moose right next to the road and on the other side of the road was his momma. I love seeing wildlife. We got out and watched the momma jump the fences to be with her baby.

Ben is about walking

Our little boy is getting so big! He is standing for a couple of seconds on his own and walking with a little bit of help. He loves to go all around. He hasn't quite figured out how to turn all the way so he will go in a line until he hits into something. Then he will let out a yell until we turn him around to go in another line. He is so much fun to watch.

Our First Backpacking Trip

We started near Franklin Basin on Danish Pass on the Highline Trail. We made it about 14 miles which was pretty good considering Kyle was packing at least 80 pounds.

No turning back now.

We had so much fun.

Ben loved his first backpacking trip. He only cried for a little bit at night. I think he is going to be a good backpacker when he gets a little older.

This is a little taste of what the trail looked like on our way down. It was so steep.

Some of the trail was not managed all that well, but Kyle's contraptions was the best for the adventure. It held up very well and protected our little boy just great.

Party Time in the Bath Tub!

Ben loves the bath. Whenever I start the water for the bath he is crawling and trying to get into that tub. Even if it means leaving his clothes on. He loves playing with the bath foam and watching it disappear.

4th of July and Rodeo Weekend

Ben's First Haircut

Good day to give our boy a little cut. He sat very still for the most part and was very good. I can't wait till his hair grows longer so it will curl better. I love the color of his blonde hair. It is so soft and so much fun to play with.

West Piney Lodge

Every year the Egbert Family gets together for one heck of a time at West Pine Lodge.

If you are lucky enough or if you wake up real early you can caught a glimpse of the moose getting his morning drink out of the stream.

Some of the things we do at West Pine Lodge are: A lot of Hikes, Kayaking, Bike Rides, Contest of who can go down the huge slide the fastest and funniest, Kick Ball, Fish Pond, Cake Walk, Teddy Bear Picnic, Scary Walk at night, Games, Mexican Fiesta and Pinata, Talent Show and much more.

Scotty ended up flipping on the river. He lost his shoes, got drenched, and had to walk through the jungle part with no shoes. Good thing his camera was waterproof. He sat in the car the rest of the time with the heaters going full blast trying not to get hypothermia.

kyle had to help get all the water out while Bob and I found his shoes.

How many bikes can you fit into one truck? How many people can you fit in one truck with all the bikes? Might be a real stinky ride but 11 is the winning number.

Bob wins for the biggest BIFF. He flipped over his bike got all bruised and scratched up. Wish he had a camera on his helmet. We could have won a lot of money on Americas Funniest Videos. Bob always has pretty good Biffs. A couple of years ago he fell down the side of the mountain with a blindfold on. He should e required to wear a camera where ever he goes.

I thought it would be fun to go through the mud. I got most of the way before a sunk.

The bike ride was so much fun. So pretty. This was at the top of the ride, next came the whoop-ti-dos all the way down the mountain.

We all love West Pine Lodge. Can't wait to go again.

Vacuuming

I was only trying to be a good little house wife and vacuuming our house... Today I was vacuuming while kyle was home working on a project. I normally do this when he is gone. I started upstairs and when I got downstairs half way through the living room Kyle walks in and shouts, "Turn it off! Turn it OFF!". I quickly turn the vacuum off.

I ask, "Why? Whats wrong?"

"What wrong? Can't you smell that?"

"Ya, but that is how the vacuum always smells."

Apparently vacuums are not supposed to smell of burning... It has always smelled like that from the first time that I used it so I thought it was normal. We spent the next hour in a half cleaning out our vacuum. This is what we got out of it.

Ben was so tired. He just laid there waiting for us to put him to bed just watching his daddy laugh at me.

After we got the vacuum all cleaned out we re-vacuumed the upstairs. This is what we got. I knew that our vacuum was not vacuuming up everything! Next time I will know to clean out the vacuum when it is not picking stuff up. In my defense the vacuum has always smelled like that when I have vacuumed. The first little while we had it, Kyle was using it to clean up remolding dust and other stuff you clean up when you remodel. I was never home when he used it.

Girls Camp 2010

Cinnamon Creek, Utah

I love being in young Womans. All the girls are so much fun and such a great example to me. This years girls camp was so much fun. Kyle got to come as well as Ben and my Dad. Mandi was the camp director of her ward and their camp site was right next to ours. So I was really lucky to have half of my family there with me. All the girls were so much fun. We laughed so hard and made so many good memories.

This is the cliff that we got to kayak over to and jump off. SOOOOO SCARY!!! Kyle made me go off the tall one. I hated every minute of it.

This was inside a mining shaft. We saw a huge rat with babies in there. Freaky. The rats tail was about the size of horse. Okay, maybe not that big, but it was so big and disgusting.

Ben's First Foods

Ben LOVES food, anyone can tell that this kid is a tank. Anything he gets his hands on, goes in his mouth. He loves just about anything. From lint off the floor to ice-cream that I know his Granny Egbert and Grandma Christiansen sneak him. His first real food that I have given him were smashed green vegetables. At first he did not know what to think about it. After the 4th of 5th spoonful he was really liking it. What a good eater.

Car Racing

These are the best racing cars ever! You can go so fast and it is so much fun. Of course Nate won and then I think Chels came in second, but they don't really count because they do this activity on a weekly basis....probably...It was really fun to dress up in the racing outfits and put the big neck brace on and the helmets. You even get a fancy drivers license.

Salt Lake City Bike Tour

This weekend we headed to Salt Lake to participate in the Salt Lake City Bike Tour. It started up by the U of U hospital and meandered its way through Sugarhouse area, Holladay area, past Granite High School as well as Liberty Park and finished at the Gateway for a total of 26 miles. It was a blast! Ben slept the whole way and loved it. We will defiantly be doing it again next year.

Kyle got it pumped up and she was good to go. Then about 100 or so yards later she got another flat. She had to wait for the helper guys to come and help her, but she finished strong. It was fun biking with her.

Bens First Kayaking Adventure

Kyle has been waiting and dreaming of this day for a very long time. It was a beautiful morning to take Ben out. So we loading up and went. At first Ben liked it, but then he started crying. It was his nap time and I forgot the pacifier in the truck. Oopps. Kyle was heading back to the truck to get it, but Ben fell asleep and we got to paddle around a little bit more. We love kayaking and it is so fun to take our little guy.

Kyle's Field Trip to Moab

Kyle got to go to Moab this weekend for one of his geology class. He got some pretty sweet pictures. Here are a few.

Kyle loves sleeping out under the stars. It was about a high of 60 degrees during the day and a low of about 27 degrees during the night. What a view to wake up to.

Every year we try to have a girls weekend and go shopping and to the scrapbook expo in Salt Lake. Even though none of us really scrapbook it is still fun. We had a blast and laughed our heads off all day and night.

We learned how to make a bumble watch-at the scrapbook expo- see we really don't scrapbook...

About 11:00 at night we all started getting a little silly, maybe because we had been walking around all day and sitting at our scrapbook table looking at all our scrapbook stuff which we don't really use. So we decided to play "Truth, dare, double dare, promise to repeat, or star." We were laughing our heads off and were probably a little delirious.

Chelsie had to go around to five tables and offer people some of her popcorn.

My mom had to go to the Cold Stone booth and see if she could get them to sell her an an ice cream that normally cost four dollars but she only had two dollars.

We don't have a picture of my dare because we were all laughing too hard to take one, but I had to go up to a random stranger and give her a hug and say "Aunt Jill, I haven't seen you for so long!" The girl was seriously SO confused! She just hurriedly walked away while shaking her head and saying "I am not your Aunt Jill. I have no idea who you are."

For Mandis dare she had to go to the front of the announcer booth, in front of the people in that booth, and in the middle of the expo, dance for 30 seconds then jump up and down with her hands in the air while shouting, "Did I win? Did I win? Did I win?" Yeah- we are all dorks and all related!

The next day we went shopping and just did "whatever we wanted". We had such a blast and I look forward to next year already!

Spring Break in Boise

Steve-O, Nancy, Amy, Kyle, Ben and I all went to visit Shane and Ellen in Boise for the weekend. It was good to see them and fun to all hang out together.

We went on a forever long drive to Hells Canyon. This Big Horn Sheep was right at the mouth of Hells Canyon. These are cool animals. This is about as far as we got then we turned around and headed back to Boise. It was a very long drive, but very pretty in some parts.

We went to Camel Back Mountain for some fun. We set up the slackline for a little entertainment. This is how Steve-O likes to do it.

Kyle is getting pretty good at it. He can do about 3 steps before he gets bucked off.

After we all tried a couple of times we all decided to adapted Steve-O's way of doing things. Tis much easier.

Sleeping through the night? Nope.

I know I am not a professional photographer by all means, but at least I am taking pictures. Maybe once I get used to taking pictures then I can practice my skills. Here is our boy at 4 months. He has rolled over a couple of times. I am not really sure that he knew what he was doing at the time, but he appreciates the joy and excitement that comes from me when he does it. He smiles much more and can recognize his mommy and daddy's faces. That is fun for us. I have got him to giggle a couple of times, but still has not figured out that that is what he is doing or how to keep doing it. It is so much fun watching him figure things out and grow. His sleep patterns vary from day to day. He still gets up about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours at night. Some days it is rough, but for the most part I do not mind it. My favorite time when he wakes up (beside at 3 AM) is when he wakes up for the day. He gives the biggest smiles and is so happy to see me. It really makes me smile and have a great day.

Paranoia.

In the last little while I have noticed that I am going out of my mind. I don't know if it is just being overly...I don't have a word for it...overly something, but I am going to really lose it someday if this keeps up. I think that sometimes I swear I hear Ben crying. I will go to listen only to find out that he is not. I think at night when we are in bed I "hear" Ben crying because I am so worried that I am not going to hear him when he really is crying. Also I want to get him right when he cries so he does not wake Kyle up. Like that will happen tho because Kyle is such a heavy sleeper. He goes to bed very late most nights and gets up very early to go to school. I want him to get the most sleep that he can and not have it interrupted. He tells me that it is OK if he wakes up and that he does not mind at all waking up for whatever the reason may be and that he likes to wake up, but I just want him to get a good night sleep and save all my "wake kyle up moments" for the next time I am pregnant and need ice cream, sprite, or cherrios in the middle of the night.

When Kyle gets home from work and I am dead asleep he wants to talk to me. I try and stay awake but that only happens very rarely. Last night when Kyle came home he went to give me a hug and I told him be careful Ben is sleeping on my chest. I was seriously convinced that he was. When in fact he was sound asleep in the next room in his crib. I did not want to hug Kyle because then Ben would get smooshed.

Am I an over-protected mother? Are these normal thoughts? Back to when I "hear" Ben crying I will go check to make sure he is not. I don't hear him. I will wait a little longer to make sure. Then I will go back to what I was doing and hear it again. I will tell myself that I am just hearing things. A couple of minutes will pass and I can't take it any more and I have to check again to find that he is crying. Needless to say I don't get much done when Ben is napping and I wake up more times during the night then is needful. It is really wearing on me. Has anyone felt like this? Is it just a stage?

Bens New Toy

I was cleaning our basement the other day and found this. It is amazing what you can find when you clean something out. I brought it up stairs and cleaned it off and put Ben in it to try it out. He loved it! When he accidentally hits one of the buttons that make it light up and play music he just squills and watches in awww trying to figure out what is going on. It is so much fun watching him play with his new toy. I have to put a towel around the front of the seat because he likes to chew on ton it. He gets it soaking wet, but if he loves it then I don't mind.

Indian Pow Wow

This was a really cool Indian Pow Wow that was held on the USU campus. There were Indians set up in corners of the circle and each of them would take turns singing or chanting while the others danced in the middle. There were booths set up around the outside of the circles that really showed the Native American culture. It was a great experience. It made Kyle and I think of the time our truck broke down in the middle of the night and we had to get a ride to Rexburg from my grandparents. They took us on the back roads from Pocetello to Rexburg so we could see Fort Hall and where all the Indians live. It was a very interesting drive and fun to see that part of town.

Yes Wild Bill was there! I am not sure why, but he was there bare foot in all.

If Scotty did not have on Aggie attire and a hippy beanie I think we would have lost him from within the pow-wows. He could fit right in. Just give him a loin cloth and a tomahawk and let him roam.

A little Bit Of Randomness

On Fridays I get to tend these little minkees. Jack always loves to build a tent because it is always raining inside my house and we need shelter. So we build tents and Jack entertains me with stories about hippos and campfires and whatever else happens to be on Jacks mind at the moment.

Ben loves to do laundry with me. He is not an ideal helper, but he makes me smile while I am doing it. He is such a fun boy that makes cleaning and laundry and whatever else I am doing interesting and drawn out. I love doing things with him even if it takes me the entire day to do one load of laundry.

Ben's very first life jacket. Now he is ready to go kayaking with us on the lake and swimming. Now all we have to wait for is for it to be summer and hot. So we might be waiting for a while.

3 Month Mark

Today was Bens 3 month mark. I think he is going through a growth spurt. He eats like every hour I swear! He has been sick the last week in a half. Now it is only a little cough and I am glad for that. Everyday he smiles more and more. He is such a happy boy most of the time. He is so much fun to be with everyday all day. We are so blessed to have him in our lives. We love you Baby Ben!

Our New Toy!

We have talked about doing this for a very long time, and just the other day Kyle came home with a prize for me. It was a Slackline! Now we can have something to do whenever we need something to do. It does not take a lot of set up, all you need is two trees or poles or something that can hold some weight and this slackline and wal-la you have something really fun, entertaining, something to do outside, and something that can keep you busy for hours. The object is trying to stay balanced while walking on the rope without holding on to something or someone. It is a very tricking thing to do. We can't wait for summer time so we can take it to the lakes and try walking over water and then doing flips off of it into the water!

This was the best day ever! I love having my birthday on Valentines day and this year it fell on a Sunday so we all got to celebrate it together on the day of my birthday! We had a party at Mandi and Corts house. We played ping-pong and pin the tail on the donkey for the little boys, opened presents, Mandi made Tacos which are one of my favorite things she makes and Chels and my Mom helped and made fruit pizza because I am not such a big fan of cake. They did a chocolate fountain with so many yummy things to dip in chocolate. We got to hang out and have a good time all evening. What a great day! Thanks everyone for the fun day. I am so glad that my dads birthday is on the 12 and mine on the 14 so that we can have a joint big party with everyone!

Kyle and I took the boys out for a little walk. We couldn't find Hanks coat so we just put the T-I- double GG-ER custom on and called it good. These boys sure are a lot of fun to watch run around.

My mom is the best mom that anyone could ever ask for. She is always there for me and she loves all of her grandkiddies so much. I love this picture of her and Ben. My mom always puts on the funnest parties and she is so much fun to do things with. Ben loves his Granny!

This was so funny! This is Jack and he wanted to scar Pa. We put these nylons over his face and he thought it was the coolest thing. He went around scarring Pa, Scotty and Kyle. He makes me laugh and always brings a smile to my face.

Of course Hank finds that there is another leg and wants in on all the fun. These two boys are the cutest boys ever.

Everyone needs a pajama party every once in a while. This was Bens first and I think he liked it. He liked sitting in between his daddy and mommy and just chillin. Family Night

For this family night we went to look at the ducks at first dam in Logan and walk around down there.

There were so many pretty ducks there. Some other people were feeding them, so they were all fighting for food. They are mean little creatures when it comes to food. We heard them hissing at each other. It was cool to hear and fun to watch.

Our Little boy is 2 months today!

I cannot believe how fast time has gone. It has already been two months! Ben is such a good baby and we love him more and more everyday. Here he is with his monkey Jack.

We went to his two month check up on Monday. He got three shots in the leg. It was a sad time. He cried for about 2 minutes and then was done. I was very glad that is all he cried. It is so sad watching your baby cry. I do not like it at all. He is a healthy boy and for that i am very thankful. He weighs 10 pounds and 10.5 ounces and 21 inches long. What a great bleesing he is for our little family.

My favorite Sister

I just love my sister Chelsie. She is my favorite sister. She is so nice and helps me with so much. She is very patient with me and helps me figure out how to work this whole blog thing. She taught me how to change my blog page so now I will probably change it every week. There are so many cute blog backgrounds it is hard to choose from just one.

If I had more pictures of Chels I would put them up for everyone to see how great she is, but I don't. So you will just have to look at these two over and over again.

Salt lake City Adventure

Our day started out that we were going to go to Soda Springs to look at the springs. Then we found out that we did not have to be back that night so we went to Salt Lake City instead. We started out going though Weston and over to Malad. Then headed to Salt Lake.

We stopped in Brigham City so Kyle could look at a geology hammer that he was so excited about. Kyle asked the guy if he had any rocks. Turns out he had a little museum full of rocks and fossils. It was pretty sweet to see what Kyle is so into and to see what he is talking about when he goes off on one of his geology spills.

It was a good fun trip to take with our little family. Ben did so well on the drive and loved walking around temple square.

Bens Baby Blessing Day

Today was such a great day. I am so glad that we live in Preston near so many or our family and friends, and they were able to share this special day with us. Ben was so cute in his little blessing outfit that Penelope Sunflower made for him, and his little blessing blanket that my mom made for him. It was so great having everyone come up and share this special day with us. I want to thank everyone who helped prepare food and clean up and set up. It made the day so nice and enjoyable and no stress for us. Thank you. Defiantly a very memorable day for us.

USU Game

Tonight was Bens very first Utah State game. He did so well. He hardly cried and was awake for some of it. My sister Chels helped me make little earplugs for Ben and it turned out great.

Little Baby Bear

Everyday our little boy gets bigger and bigger. Today I found this little outfit tucked way back in his closet. When he was born it was way to big. Now it fits him just right. I love how he is starting to talk baby cooing talk to me and smile a little more in his sleep and while he is awake. He has smiled once for me just a little one. We are waiting for that first real big long smile.

Our Little Guy

I cannot believe how much I love this little guy. He is definitly our little minkee. Here he is with his new monkey we named Hank after Bens favorite nephew named Hank.

I love this picture and how happy Ben is in it. When he is not sleeping or crying he is in a happy good mood. I love those moments! They happen quite frequently. I am very happy about that.

Happy New Year!

Another year has past and a start of a new year begins. I have a little confession as well as a resolution.

The confession... I have been looking forward to this new year and have been just counting down the days because I have been wanting to blog, but I have been wanting to start fresh. A brand new year gives me this chance. I have thought I will just start on the begining of the next month. But then I would just get all uncomfortable because it is just the start of a month not the year. Then I would have a lot of empty months before. I know I have a little thinking problem. So I have been really looking forward to this new year. All for the blogging aspects.

The resolution.... TO BLOG! So now that I have been waiting for this new year to start so I can start new on the blogging I am going to keep up with it. I wonder how many other people have that as their new year resolutions? Most likely all bloggers.

I have decided to make a list of pros and cons about doing a blog vs scrapbooks.
Pros on Blogging:

*You get to see everything that happened that year in just a little book
*It is prefect size and doesn't take up a whole room full of scrapbook supplies and paper and magazines to get cute ideas for scrapbook pages.
*You just have to think of what to write. Now I have not decided whether that is a pro or con.
*No racking you brain on how to do this page or that page.
* You do not you have to come up with so many layout ideas
* No making sure colors match and if there is enough ribbon to go around.
* No running out of paper when you just needed one more piece.
* Makes prefect Christmas present for parents and inlaws and you don't ever have to spend half the year thinking of what to get!
* All you have to do at the end of the year is print however many you want.
* You don't have to scrapbook.

The more I think about scrapbooking and what a big headache it is for me the more I love the thought of blogging. Maybe that can be my motivation to keep the blogs coming.

Cons to blogging:

* Trying to figure out what to write.
* Blogging
* Taking more pictures. This one may be a pro... More pictures are always good.
* Only so many fonts.

Looks like pros outweigh the cons. Happy New Year everyone! Hope this year is the best year ever for you all! I hope everyone gets to do a little of whatever they want and I hope everyone gets to go on a sweet vacation this year!

Baby Guessing Time!

Ice Caves

Rexburg has some pretty cool things to do if you know where to go and what to do. You really have to look for them. It was fun to climb all over and slide all around. Kyle and I thought about opening an ice skatting rink down there. If it were bigger it would be a rockin place to skate.

Kayaking

Something that Kyle got me into doing was kayaking. I love doing this! Kyle already had his own kayak so we went and bought me one. It looked just like Kyles but it was blue. We went a couple of times saw so amazing things. One time in particular we were on the south fork of the Teton river, we saw a white tailed deer, an owl coming out of its hole and when we looked inside its hole we saw 3 baby owls, 17 pelicans, 23 huge white swans, a couple of families of ducks and geese, a little beaver, a huge beaver that we couldn't figure out what it was until it came up out of the water 2 feet away from my kayak with a huge splash. It scared me so bad I almost jumped out of my kayak. We have seen so many amazing things on the river. I love it so much!

On May 21 Kyle took his brother Shane to the Teton Dam to kayak down. I drove them up and dropped them off. When I got home I get a call from Kyle. "Shan can you come get us now?" I was so confused because it had only been 30 minutes since i dropped them off. I asked if everything was alright. The reception was bad. kyle said "Ya everything is fine could you just hurry. Bring two pairs of shoes. We are in the same spot where you dropped us off." We lost connection there. As I thought about it longer; bring two pairs of shoes, hurry, pick them up in the same spot, I was freaking out just a little. When I got back up to the dam I went to the same spot. They were not there. I got out and looked around shouting their names I got no response. I started freaking out a little more. I drove around and finally I look across the river to see two boys sitting on a rock drenched from head to toe, no shoes, no paddles, no kayaks. I calmed down just a bit when I saw them both breathing.

It took about another 30-45 minutes for them to figure out how to get back across the huge river. They had to swim up stream to get to a calmer part of the river. Kyle went across first and turned to Shane and told him not to swim across. The river was freezing. He told Shane to hike up to the road and we would pick him up.

Kyle and I went downstream to look for the kayaks. We found mine but it was in the middle of the river stuck on the beginning of a little island. We couldn't get to it with out another kayak or boat or something. We found my paddle on the other side of the river on the bank. We looked for kyles stuff but couldn't see it.

We went back to the truck to go pick up Shane and look for the other kayak. We got to the top of the road that overlooks the whole river and saw kyles kayak going in circles in a little Bay area. We rushed down to get it but we were 45 seconds late. Right when we got there the current got it and sent it down the river. We chased it for as long as we could but got stuck at a farmers places. He had a gate on the road which lead to his fields of grains, potatoes, lamas, birds and other things. We went to see if we could find them to ask if he could let us by but no one was home. We back tracked and went to find Shane. Kyle dropped me off at the bridge at Monkey Rock so I could sit and watch for the kayaks to come while he went to find Shane. Of course my phone dies right then so I just sit wondering if Kyle found Shane. About an hour later Kyle comes to pick me up. He got a phone call from Shane telling us that he is in St. Anthony and a gas station. When we picked him up we find out that as he was walking the road is a little further then we thought. He was walking through thorny Fields (still no shoes) some workers saw him and went and got him on a 4-wheeler. They took him into town. He found a cell phone from someone else and we finally got him.

The story continues.... we drove back out to the dam to see if my kayak was still there. It was we figured out a way we could get it. We thought about swimming across but the current was to strong there and the water was way to cold to swim in. We thought about renting jet skis then we could have a little more fun after we found them, but that idea was out. Then we thought of a winning idea. We would barrow my grandparents raft and float down. By this time it was to late to go that night. Kyle had school the next day at 9 and we had to be in Preston to work at 3 so we did not get to the raft till Monday.

Kyles parents came up on Monday to help us. We got the raft our and invited my cousins Lesh, Emma and KT came up to go rafting with us. When we blew the raft up it was a little smaller then I had remembered. Only Kyle, Steve and Shane fit in the raft. So we sent them off. KT had her own kayak so we pushed her in and watched her go. On the first rapid (the same one Kyle and Shane flipped on) she flipped. I ran down and caught her kayak luckily. She got back in and went the rest of the way.

Lesh, Emma and I went to monkey rock to wait for them. About 2 hours later we see a orange kayak coming down the river! What a great day we found a kayak! So this very long, lessons learned experience turned out to be a crazy experience that we will never forget. Also we only ended up loosing 2 pairs of shoes, my blue smith sunglasses, 2 nalgene bottles, 2 caribeners one yellow paddle, and one blue kayak. It could have been worse. We were happy to at least find one paddle and one kayak. Now we just have to save our pennies for another kayak.

We sure did learn so much from this experience. We are very thankful that no one got hurt besides some scraped up feet and some scrapes.

Afterwards we celebrated finding our kayak by jumping off the bridge. This is Shane and Kyle.

Camping

Kyle and I love to camp. So whenever we can, we head up to the mountains to set up camp. We load up on big sleeping bags and blankets and make a nice bed in the back of our truck. This time, we packed a dutch oven for dinner. I will say we have a long ways till we perfect the dutch oven art of cooking.

Turtles

Kyle and I thought it would be fun to buy some turtles at a flea market a couple of months ago. We bought two. About two weeks ago we were looking at them and noticed one was missing. We thought that it buried a spot for itself under the rocks to make its peace, but today Kyle walked downstairs and found little Amanda Jo in the middle of the kitchen floor. What a rambunctious turtle. I guess we are glad that she is back. Bobalouba the other turtle is really glad she is back.

Kyle finished our kitchen today! He did such a great job. Kyle and I both agree that doing our dishes in a real sink is so much better then doing them in a bucket. It is so much fun that we can actually do dishes in the sink while looking out the window at the nice yard and apple trees. Also the cupboards are so nice to put our food and everything else in. So much better then the open shelves and unorganized mess that we used to have.

Our house under construction....

This was, in my opinion, the funnest thing to do in the whole construction process. It is no wonder why kids love to color on walls and have so much fun while doing it.

Kyle loved tearing down things. My favorite was a toss up between using the seldge hammer and just going crazy hitting the wall and throwing the ax at the wall and then doing it again trying to hit the same place twice.

The other day Kyle and I ran out of clean clothes and we still had another week before we were going to Preston. So we had no other choice but to go to the laundry mat. It was my very first time at a laundry mat. I will admit I was a little lost but we got it under control.

We live right across the street from the South Fork of the Teton River. It has been frozen for the entire time that we have lived here up until about two weeks ago. We decided that we really needed to go kayaking even though Rexburg is still in the dead of winter. Here is what became of it.

Ten foot snow drifts.

When we finally were at the end, Shane was drenched from head to toe, and I was drenched from my knees up. I bet another 30 minutes of being on the river would have turned us into icicles. Kyle on the other hand hardly got even a drop of water on him.

My helmet and sunglasses were covered in ice.

It was such a great adventure. It was both mine and Shanes first time. There was a part in the river where it turned into a huge opening and it was really windy at that time. That is where we got the wettest. Shane and mines kayak was meant to have wet suits with it and sat real low. Our skirts had holes in them and did not protect us as well as we would have liked. But it was all worth it!

What the??? What is that???

So, Kyle and I were just taking a little stroll by the river and we kept looking at this "rock" that looked really weird and furry. I guessed it to be a little cub bear that came from the Tetons. Maybe it got stuck in an avalance, ended up in the river, then the river froze over and the little cub got trapped under the ice and ended up over a rock in front of our house?? That is the thought that came into my mind when I saw this. Kyle thought it was a moose. We had to find out. Kyle went back and got his boots and went out to see what it was. What does it look like to you?

Turns out it was just a calf that had got caught in the river a couple of miles upstream. If you look real close you can see Kyle pulling its head up by the tag in the ear.

"Walking on Water"

About a week and a half ago Kyles sister Amy was over at our house and we wanted to go have a little fun. So we grabbed shuvel and headed across our street to the Teton River. We walked on it for a bit and then wanted to see how thick the ice was. We started digging and chopping at the ice. It was pretty thick ice.

We soon got boared with doing that and started walking some more. We walked around the bend, Kyle told us all about the kind of dirt that was on the banks. That was interesting...

We had our little snow fights here and there, made some snow-angles, we would have gone ice fishing if we had poles and attention span long enough to dig a real hole in the ice, but we had tons of fun just "walking on water".

Our Wedding Day!

Kyle and I are not traditional people. We like to do things a little differently. We love to have fun and make a party out of whatever we can. So for our wedding-day we did things a little differently. We started with a luncheon at Big J's in Richmond; this way, everyone could come. They were able to order whatever they wanted. It was more like a party than a formal luncheon, which is more like me and Kyle. What a great luncheon it turned out to be.

Here is our cake. We did a Mad Hatter cake. It went great with the party.

Here we are with my side of the nephews: Jack, Wyatt, Hank Bob, and Sawyer.

This was absolutly the perfect day. I have always wanted a white wedding and that is exactly what happened. I prayed for snow and man did it snow. The night before our wedding and the morning of it snowed a ton. It did, however, clear up for our luncheon and drive to the temple. While we were getting married it was sunny and nice for the kids to play. As soon as we were coming out, it started to snow huge snowflakes. It was very pretty, it was perfect.

Here we are with my folks. They do so much for us and helped so much with everything. I really don't know what I would do without them. Thank you so much mom and dad for everything! You made our wedding perfect.

The two best sisters ever. They helped so much with the wedding. I love my sisters very much. I am so thankful for all their help. They really helped make our wedding great.

Here are my new inlaws! What a fun family they are. We are always laughing at something. I am so greatful for them and for all they do for us.

The first night we sailed to an island called Nassau. Kyle and I rented a crappy scooter and went around the entire island to see what Nassau was really like without all the tourists. We met some pretty cool people and saw some very beautiful beaches. This was our favorite part. After our butts hurt from ridding so much we went and walked around the huge flea markets. It was really fun to bargain with people.
The next day we went to a Disney owned island named Castaway Cay. We went to the adult beach on the other side of the island far away from most of the people so we could go snorkeling alone. Kyle and I went snorkeling....well, I went for about 12 minutes then got a little freaked out by the huge sting ray. Kyle of course tried to get me to stay in and snorkel longer but that freaks me out. Kyle ended up snorkeling with a momma sting ray and her little baby along with some other real pretty fish and a BARRACUDA!! What a crazy husband I have!

Our ship that we were on was completely re-built just a couple of months before, so it was immaculate! We ate at the really fancy restaurants and had a ball! The sunsets and the sunrises were beautiful.

Now we are in Rexburg, Kyle is going into Construction Management at BYU-I and I am trying to find a good job. We are living in my grandparents "apartment" that is next to their house. Well it was a work shed for the weight vest but they moved somewhere else and now we are making that into our home. All it is missing is a kitchen sink and a washer and dryer. We love living there. It is just perfect for us!
